Another Seattle Rain Shadow

Once again, Seattle was kept drier than other parts of the region by a rain shadow. Unlike Friday’s southeast-side shadow, yesterday’s northeast orientation was much closer to normal (see RainWatch 48-hour accumulation image above).
24-hour rainfall totals across the city ranged from just under 0.50″ in places like Maple Leaf and Broadview, while Rainier Beach and points south surpassed 1.00″. Seattle RainWatch was active with 7 alerts (2 forecast and 5 accumulation) but most of the activity remained outside City limits.
